Q. How do I setup default gateway with a route command?
A. route command show and/or manipulate the IP routing table under Linux and UNIX oses.
Route manipulates the kernel's IP routing tables. Its primary use is to set up static routes to specific hosts or networks via an interface after it has been configured with the ifconfig program. When the add or del options are used, route modifies the routing tables. Without these options, route displays the current contents of the routing tables.

Display default route

Following three-command display the current routing table:

You can use -n option, to display numerical addresses instead of trying to determine symbolic host names (via dns or /etc/hosts file). This is useful if you are trying to determine why the route to your nameserver has vanished.

The syntax is as follows:

IP-ADDRESS: Specify router IP address
INTERFACE-NAME: Specify interface name such as eth0

Google appears to be preparing to launch Gomo, a site that offers to take a desktop site and format it for mobile use.
Fusible discovered that Howtogomo.com and the related Howtogomo.net were previously registered by Google. The site is now live in preview mode, but it requires a password.
The tagline? "Mobilize your site now."
As Fusible notes, Google already has a "Mobile Optimizer" site up and running, but with limited features. There's been no confirmation that the Gomo site is anything but the other site under a new brand, but Fusible and ReadWriteWeb seem to be betting that the service will be a new and improved one.
(If anything, PC Magazine's Web development team might want to look into it. The magazine's mobile presence has been extremely basic - one might say "streamlined" - for years now. Even optimized by Google's existing mobile optimization site, it leaves something to be desired.)
We'll have to wait and see if and when GOogle makes the formal announcement.

"Argument list too long": Beyond Arguments and Limitations

At some point during your career as aLinux user, you may have come across the following error:

 [user@localhost directory]$ mv * ../directory2
 bash: /bin/mv: Argument list too long

The "Argument list too long" error, which occurs anytime auser feeds too many arguments to a single command, leaves the userto fend for oneself, since all regular system commands (ls *, cp *,rm *, etc...) are subject to the same limitation. This article willfocus on identifying four different workaround solutions to thisproblem, each method using varying degrees of complexity to solvedifferent potential problems. The solutions are presented below inorder of simplicity, following the logical principle of Occam'sRazor: If you have two equally likely solutions to a problem, pickthe simplest.

Method #1: Manually split the command line arguments intosmaller bunches.
Example 1

[user@localhost directory]$ mv [a-l]* ../directory2
[user@localhost directory]$ mv [m-z]* ../directory2

This method is the most basic of the four: it simply involvesresubmitting the original command with fewer arguments, in the hopethat this will solve the problem. Although this method may work asa quick fix, it is far from being the ideal solution. It works bestif you have a list of files whose names are evenly distributedacross the alphabet. This allows you to establish consistentdivisions, making the chore slightly easier to complete. However,this method is a poor choice for handling very large quantities offiles, since it involves resubmitting many commands and a good dealof guesswork.

Method #2: Use the find command.
Example 2

[user@localhost directory]$ find $directory -type f -name '*' -exec mv
{} $directory2/. \;

for delete file in the current folder you can use

 [user@localhost directory]$ find . -type f -name '*' -exec rm {} \;

where . is the current folder

Method #2 involves filtering the list of files through thefind command, instructing it to properly handle each file based ona specified set of command-line parameters. Due to the built-inflexibility of the find command, this workaround is easy to use,successful and quite popular. It allows you to selectively workwith subsets of files based on their name patterns, date stamps,permissions and even inode numbers. In addition, and perhaps mostimportantly, you can complete the entire task with a singlecommand.

The main drawback to this method is the length of timerequired to complete the process. Unlike Method #1, where groups offiles get processed as a unit, this procedure actually inspects theindividual properties of each file before performing the designatedoperation. The overhead involved can be quite significant, andmoving lots of files individually may take a long time.

Method #3: Create a function. *
Example 3a

Although writing a shell function does involve a certainlevel of complexity, I find that this method allows for a greaterdegree of flexibility and control than either Method #1 or #2. Theshort function given in Example 3a simply mimics the functionalityof the find command given in Example 2: it deals with each fileindividually, processing them one by one. However, by writing afunction you also gain the ability to perform an unlimited numberof actions per file still using a single command:

Example 3b demonstrates how you easily can get an md5sum anda backup listing of each file before moving it.
Unfortunately, since this method also requires that each filebe dealt with individually, it will involve a delay similar to thatof Method #2. From experience I have found that Method #2 is alittle faster than the function given in Example 3a, so Method #3should be used only in cases where the extra functionality isrequired.

Method #4: Recompile the Linux kernel.**

This last method requires a word of caution, as it is by farthe most aggressive solution to the problem. It is presented herefor the sake of thoroughness, since it is a valid method of gettingaround the problem. However, please be advised that due to theadvanced nature of the solution, only experienced Linux usersshould attempt this hack. In addition, make sure to thoroughly testthe final result in your environment before implementing itpermanently.
One of the advantages of using an open-source kernel is thatyou are able to examine exactly what it is configured to do andmodify its parameters to suit the individual needs of your system.Method #4 involves manually increasing the number of pages that areallocated within the kernel for command-line arguments. If you lookat the include/linux/binfmts.h file, you will find the followingnear the top:

In order to increase the amount of memory dedicated to thecommand-line arguments, you simply need to provide theMAX_ARG_PAGES value with a higher number. Once this edit is saved,simply recompile, install and reboot into the new kernel as youwould do normally.
On my own test system I managed to solve all my problems byraising this value to 64. After extensive testing, I have notexperienced a single problem since the switch. This is entirelyexpected since even with MAX_ARG_PAGES set to 64, the longestpossible command line I could produce would only occupy 256KB ofsystem memory--not very much by today's system hardwarestandards.
The advantages of Method #4 are clear. You are now able tosimply run the command as you would normally, and it completessuccessfully. The disadvantages are equally clear. If you raise theamount of memory available to the command line beyond the amount ofavailable system memory, you can create a D.O.S. attack on your ownsystem and cause it to crash. On multiuser systems in particular,even a small increase can have a significant impact because everyuser is then allocated the additional memory. Therefore always testextensively in your own environment, as this is the safest way todetermine if Method #4 is a viable option for you.

Como todos sabran yahoo esta cerrando geocites que es un servicio donde yo mantenía mi vieja pagina web, antes conocidas como home pages (todos debiamos tener una) pero bueno mi vieja pagina esta por desaparecer, por lo tanto empece este blog para rescatar un poco de su contenido, agregar nuevo, y mejorar lo que tenia, esta pagina era en mi ver bien disenada, bueno hace 8 anos estaba bien, tenia un menu javascrit que soportaba varios navegadores, en la actualizada ninguno lo demuestra adecuadamente (ver imagen de la web page)

esta pagina ya tenia un buen tienpo sin actualizar y sin cambiar un tag (codigo html), pero aun asi llego a tener mas de 100 mil visitas en 5 anos quizas no sea mucho pero al menos alguien la visitaba, por lo mismo voy a tratar de pasar su contenido a este blog y como dije mejorarlo en la capasidad que tenga, principalmente de tiempo, en la siguiente imagen muestro las estadisticas de dicha pagina al dia de hoy

Una de las aplicaciones mas nuevas de Google es una forma efectiva de localizar un celular y por ende al portador del mismo esta herramienta trabaja en México aunque por ahora dice que no como ejemplo pueden ver mi localizaron en esta pagina del lado derecho, la cual limite a la ciudad por ser solo un ejemplo y por seguridad (ver imagen)

para poder utilizar esta aplicación en México lo mejor es tener un teléfono con servicio ilimitado de datos si no olvidenlo TelCel, Movistar u otra se los acabarían cobrando cantides exorbitantes crean me ya pase por eso por no apagar mi BB cuando fui a USA ya que pague mas de 2 mil pesos de GPRS

bueno después de esta queja la forma de utilizar esta interesante aplicación seria

Ir al link de la misma Google Latitud para lo cual hay que tener una cuenta en google (ejemplo gmail, google docs, etc), ahí te piden que actives la cuenta, después bajas google para moviles (google maps) te pide o te dice que si apruebas que la aplicación muestre tu información, y después de eso ya puedes ver tu localización, bueno después de agregarla a igoogle (como gadget), pero si visitas igoogle de México http://www.google.com.mx/ig?source=mxmm te indica que el gadget no esta disponible para la locación (ver imagen)

el truco es cambiar de locación a USA y ya puedes ver tu locación, como medida de seguridad sola a las personas que les des acceso podan ver tu localización, asi que ya saben hombres y mujer celosos configuren esta aplicación a sus parejas y podran ver donde estan y padres que quieran ver donde sus retonos estan tambien pueden utilizarla.
